"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, God, what did I drink?" was Bo's first question slash blanket-muffled moan. Though surprisingly that was mostly about how exhausted she was - no hangover to speak of. The taste in her mouth, though... "What did I eat?"

Bo really, really, really hoped, as the events of the weekend tried to crawl back into her conscious memory, that she was asking those questions out loud because she could sense someone's chi nearby, and not because she was going to have to change the pronoun in the previous question to who.

"The blond Student President who was Homecoming Queen." Kenzi made a face, the cheered up. "Mostly she's preppy but okay, I guess, but she dyed her hair pink after Parent's Weekend to get back at her mom. Would you have ever done that?"

"...No." Bo studied her for a moment, then grinned. "I went for blue."

"HA!" That got Bo another hug, and a muttered, "I would have thought it was cool. I just wouldn't have said so."

Bo snickered into Kenzi's shoulder. "A whole one streak of it, which I wore for half of junior year until I realized it's a signal that your act of rebellion has failed when your mom starts buying you matching ponytail pom-poms."

"Seriously?" Kenzi laughed, pulling back a bit and grinning. "She's smart. Maybe someday I'll meet your mom." Then remembering how totally awkward things were, she bit her lip. "Do you ever thing about... I dunno. Calling them? Now that you know what's going on with you?"

"Think about it? Sure; all the time. Do it?" Bo closed her eyes for a moment against a too-vivid image of the house she grew up in, porch light on in the late-spring dusk. "I don't know what they think of me, I don't know what they think happened to my boyfriend, or if I'm wanted for that. And now that I know what's going on with me..." She shook her head. "It might not even be safe for them if I did."

Kenzi put her arm back around Bo, face sober. "Sucks and blows and burns. I'm sorry." She squeezed Bo. "You got me. I'm not a good trade for parents who care, but I care too. And I'll help with them, if you ever need it."

"Don't think I won't hold you to that. I'll need backup when I try to explain how they've got another kid they didn't even know about."

"Deal." Kenzi grinned. "I could always bring presents for them with me. Would your mom want new boots?"
